In Loving Memory of Jo Ann Greer Richardson
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our beloved wife, mother, sister, and friend, Jo Ann Richardson, who left us peacefully after a courageous battle with Progressive Supranuclear Palsy on April 16, 2025, at the age of 77.
Jo Ann was a woman of warmth, strength, and quiet grace. A devoted wife to her loving husband David, she cherished every moment they spent together, especially their time on the golf course, where companionship and a slight competitiveness were always par for the course. Her love of the game was matched only by the joy she found in the company of family—particularly the special bond she shared with her dear sister Nancy.
As a mother, Jo Ann was endlessly supportive, nurturing, and proud. She leaves behind her two daughters, Aimee Sulser (Brian) and Alison Baumann (Josh), and her three grandchildren, Ella, Lucy and Henry, who will forever carry her love, wisdom, and spirit in their hearts.
She is lovingly remembered by her sisters Peggy Hoffman (David), Nancy Cole (Gayle), and her brother Mark Greer (Todd Dillon), and all of her nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her parents, Earl and June Greer, whose love and influence helped shape the incredible woman Jo Ann became.
Those who knew Jo Ann will remember her for her gentle heart, her caring nature, and the deep compassion she showed to everyone around her. Though her final years were marked by the challenges of a debilitating disease, her resilience and dignity never wavered, and she continued to inspire with her enduring spirit.
Her presence in our lives was a gift, and her memory will remain a guiding light for all who loved her.
A celebration of Jo Ann's life will be held on May 10, 2025, from 1-3 at Reins-Sturdivant Funeral Home in Independence, VA.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made in her memory to organizations supporting research and care for Progressive Supranuclear Palsy.
