Mr. Anderson was born at Independence, Virginia, to Allie Glade Anderson and Ruth Woods Anderson

Surviving, wife, Nancy Anderson of the home; daughters and spouses, Doris Gay and Kevin Cornett of Independence, VA, Crystal Jody and Richard Wilson of Independence, VA and Melissa Gail and Christopher Hancock of Galax, VA; Son, Tracy Allen Anderson of Independence, VA; stepson, Bobby Keith Shaffer of Independence, VA; sister and spouse, Thelma and David Reece of Sylvatus, VA; Half-sister, Mallie Pollard of Galax, VA; two half-brothers an spouse, Bob and Dana Pollard of Fries, VA and Roger Pollard of Galax, VA; seven grandchildren and three great-grandchildren also survive.

He was preceded in death by son, Ricky Joe Anderson and brother, A.G. Anderson

Funeral service will be held at 11:00 A.M. Wednesday, April 25, 2018
in Reins-Sturdivant Funeral Home Chapel with interment in Grubb's Chapel Cemetery, Independence, VA. Rev. Jeff Johnson and Rev. Darrell Melton will officiate. The family will receive friends at the funeral home one hour preceding the service and at other times at the home, 1777 Beaver Dam Road, Independence, VA
