John Bascom Peeples. Jr. age 70 of Independence, VA passed away at his home on Tuesday, August 27, 2024.  He was born in San Patricio, Texas on May 8, 1954, to John Bascom Peeples, Sr. and Wanda Louise Pool Peeples.   He was a self-employed landscaper.  He loved walking in the woods and fishing.  He was a football fan with Dallas Cowboys as his team.  He enjoyed western movies.

He is survived by his wife of 50 years, Iris B. Peeples of the home; one son, Lance John and Sunni Peeples of Independence; two daughters, Brandi and Eugene Widner of Independence, Lona Louise Peeples of Independence; one brother, Robert and Lucille Peeples of Louisiana; three sisters, Constance Davis of Texas, Sheila and Gerardo Gonzalez of Texas, and Terry Freeman of Texas; 19 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren also survive.  In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death his daughter, Johnni Peeples.

Services will be private.  Memorial contributions may be made to the family c/o Iris B. Peeples 125 Bedwell St. Apt 13-D Independence, VA 24348.
