John Kye Sutherland, the infant son of Nathan Eli and Molly Stuart Sutherland of Elk Creek, VA was escorted by an angelic host to his home in heaven on January 1, 2023.  He was born in the Wytheville Community Hospital on January 1, 2023.  Molly and Nathan will hold him in their hearts until they can hold him in heaven.  If love could have saved him, he would have lived forever.  In addition to his parents, he is survived by his brother, Milo William Sutherland of the home; his maternal grandparents, Tony and Kathy Stuart of Fries, VA; his paternal grandparents, Tim and Marcia Sutherland of Elk Creek, VA; his paternal great grandmother, Velma Sutherland of Elk Creek, VA; uncles, Charles and Caitlyn Sutherland of Hiwassee, VA and Cory Stuart of Fries, VA; several additional great aunts and uncles and cousins also survive.  John Kye was given his name in honor of Molly's Papaw, and grandfather, John Fred Stanley.

Funeral services will be private, and burial will follow in the Comers Rock Cemetery in the Comers Rock Community of Elk Creek, VA.
