In Loving Memory of Shane Corcoran

March 5, 1975 – October 13, 2026

With heavy hearts and profound love, we announce the passing of Shane Corcoran, of Independence, Virginia, who passed peacefully at home on October 13, 2026, surrounded by the love of his family and those closest to him. Though our hearts are broken by his loss, we are grateful for the memories, laughter, music, and love he leaves behind.

Shane was truly one of a kind. He had a big heart, a generous spirit, and a way of making everyone feel welcome. He never met a stranger and made friends wherever life took him. He was the kind of person who would do anything for anyone, often without hesitation or expectation of anything in return. His presence could fill a room, his personality could spark a lively debate, and his kindness left an impression on the people fortunate enough to know him.

A passionate sports fan, Shane loved sports of all kinds, especially Duke basketball, the Dallas Cowboys, and the Las Vegas Raiders. He took great pride in his bowling accomplishments, including a perfect 300 game and an impressive 822 series—achievements that brought him tremendous joy and pride.

Music was another of Shane's great loves. He especially loved the heavy metal band Metallica, but his appreciation for music went far beyond any one genre. When a song moved him, he couldn't help but air drum along, feeling every beat as if he were right there on stage. Those moments were pure Shane—full of energy, passion, and an unmistakable love for life.

By profession, Shane was a proud bar and lounge owner, though his many skills and talents extended well beyond that role. He was a man of many abilities, strong opinions, and a spirited flair for debate. He enjoyed sharing his thoughts, standing his ground, and keeping conversations lively. Whether discussing sports, music, or just about anything else, Shane always had something to say.

His love for animals was another special part of who he was. His beloved dog, Ditch, and his two cats, Twink and B Boy, held an especially dear place in his heart. The tenderness he showed toward his animals reflected the caring and loving soul that so many people knew.

Shane leaves behind his beloved mom, Cheri Bradley; his dad, Ron and Camille Willet; his grandma, Francis Ryman; his brother, Cornel Feurdean; his person, Stacy Jones; his uncle Bob Carter; and his aunt Kim Alter. He also leaves behind countless friends whose lives were made brighter by knowing him, along with the cherished memories of a man who was never afraid to be himself.

Although Shane's time with us has come to an end, the things that made him who he was will never be forgotten. His laughter, his love of music, his passion for sports, his unforgettable personality, his willingness to help others, and the friendships he built will live on in the hearts of those who loved him. The world is a little quieter without him, but the memories he leaves behind will continue to speak volumes.

Shane's life reminds us that the measure of a person is found not only in what they accomplish, but in the love they give, the connections they make, and the lives they touch along the way.

Rest peacefully, Shane. May the music always be loud, the drums always be pounding, the games always be on, and the memories of you always bring a smile through the tears. You were loved more than words can say, and you will be missed more than you could ever know.

A private gathering of family and friends will be held at a later date to honor and celebrate Shane's life.
