Mr. Wingate was born in Elk Creek, VA, to Ruth Phipps and Harmon Wingate. Besides his parents he was preceded in death by his wife,
Edith Wanda Wingate. He was a U.S. Army Veteran

Surviving, daughter and spouse, Ann and Robert Brown of Galax, VA;
three granddaughters, Rebecca Meadows of Easton, MD; Natasha Kirk of
Escondido, California and Kristie Frazier of Rural Retreat, VA;
four great-granddaughters, Jessica Meadows, Abigail Meadows, Adaizha Frazier and Briana Adams and several nieces and nephews also survives

Funeral service will be held at 11:00 A.M. Wednesday, July 25, 2018
in Reins-Sturdivant Funeral Chapel with Elder James Hayden, Elder James Wyatt and Junior Brown officiating. Interment in Comers Rock Cemetery.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 10:00 A.M. preceding the funeral service.
