Obituary

With great sadness the family of Joshua Seth Hodge announces his passing following a tragic car accident in the early hours of Saturday, September 27, 2025.  He was born in Sparta, North Carolina on February 26, 2004 to James Dean "Richard "Hodge and Kimberly Dawn Davis Hodge.  Josh was a loving son, brother, and grandson who loved hunting and riding dirt bikes.  In later years, he loved working on diesel trucks.  He had a heart of gold and was always willing to show kindness to everybody.  Josh always nurtured a forgiving spirit which he was quick to display to family and friends alike!  He was a Jason Aldean fan with one of his favorite songs being "She's Country."  He will be remembered for his special giggle when he was afraid.  Josh cherished his family and always wanted them to be together.  He equally valued his friendships and cherished those who were his "true friends."  He always took pride in his appearance and was often found in his trademark look, long sleeved shirt, and hat!  Josh took great pride in his work ethic.  He took his work position very seriously and was always eager to please his superiors and encourage his co-workers.  While his family is broken hearted with this great loss, they are encouraged by the faith that Josh displayed as a young boy.  He delighted in being with his grandmother, Nancy Davis, who preceded him in death in 2020.  Now they are reunited to enjoy the joys and comforts of eternity.

Josh is survived by his mother, Kimberly Davis Hodge of Lansing; his father, Richard and Linda Hodge of Lansing, NC; maternal grandfather, Jimmy Davis of Lansing, NC; four brothers, Matthew and Ashley Hodge of Sparta, NC, Kirkland (Katherine) Fletcher of Georgetown, Kentucky, Austin Combs of Prestonsburg, Kentucky; and Jace Hodge of Lansing, NC; one sister, Destany Edwards of West Jefferson, NC; niece, Alexis Hodge of Sparta; Special Aunt and Uncle, Steve and April Hodge and Mary Ann of Galax, VA; special friends, Lisa Edwards, Kelsey, Camden and Courtney Church of Fleetwood, NC, and Carol Edwards.

In addition to his maternal grandmother, Josh was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Anna Belle and Dean Hodge, Sr.

Funeral services will be conducted by Rev. William Greer and Rev.
