Surrounded by her loving family, Juanita Faye Creed Moon, age 86, severed all earthly ties on March 26, 2022, at the Mint Hill Medical Center in Charlotte, NC. She was born on March 29, 1935, in Fries, Virginia to Oliver Ronnie and Pearl Elizabeth Trent Creed.
She will be remembered as a hard-working woman, always placing the needs of her family above her own. She was a talented musician always remembering her early youth when she and her family traveled to local revivals sharing the gospel in song. In her adult years, her love of music and her passion to serve others was extended to the Hopewell Moose Lodge where she was lodge musician. She loved gardening and was especially talented at flower gardening. Her family will remember her as a devoted wife, and loving mother. She was a loving and adored grandmother. Her children and grandchildren are considered her proudest-crowning achievement. She was also the most competitive card player at the family card games!
Mrs. Moon's life will be celebrated on her 87 th birthday on Tuesday, March 29, 2022, at the Reins-Sturdivant Funeral Home Chapel in Independence, Virginia by Rev. Jonathan Jones. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the chapel. Burial will follow in the family plot at the Independence Cemetery in Independence, Virginia.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two brothers-in-law, Frank Robinson and Bronson Jones.
Surviving is her husband of 68 years, James Robert Moon of the home in Charlotte, NC; two daughters, Debbie and Dennis Jacobs, of Franklin, TN and Terri Moon of Charlotte; one son, Ronnie Moon and fiancée, Heidi Sacchitella of Glastonbury, CT; two sisters, Ruth Hagy-Robinson of Baltimore, MD and Hazel Jones of Independence, VA; granddaughters, Lindsay and Josh Schmelzel of Blythewood, SC, Ellie Moon and Sarah Moon of Celebration, FL; several nieces and nephews also survive.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made in her memory to the St Jude's Children's Hospital Fund 2101 Rexford Road #165W Charlotte, NC 28211.
