Mrs. Juanita H. Hackler, age 90, of Independence, Virginia was a resident of Waddell Nursing Home where she died Sunday Morning, December 23, 2018. She was born on November 2, 1928 to Camiet and Vergie Poe Holbrook in Whyte County, Virginia.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Paul J. Hackler.

Mrs. Hackler is survived by two sons:  Paul E. Hackler and Freddie Hackler both of Independence, Virginia; three grandsons and spouses:  Jason A. and Kim Hackler of Galax, Virginia, Aaron W. and Nicki Hackler of Mt. Airy, North Carolina, Derek L. and Heather McKay of Virginia Beach, Virginia;  two granddaughters:  Amber N. Hackler of Mt. Airy, North Carolina and Ashley  M. Hackler of Sparta, North Carolina, fourteen great-grandchildren; one brother and spouse, Julian and Bonnie Holbrook of Speedwell, Virginia, a special friend, Norma Y. Billings also survive.

Funeral services will be conducted on Friday, December 28, 2018 at 11:00 AM at the Dan Walters Chapel of Reins-Sturdivant Funeral Home in Independence.  The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Thursday, December 27, 2018 from 6:00-8:00 PM.  Funeral services will be conducted on Friday, December 28, 2018 at 11:00 AM at the Dan Walters Chapel of Reins-Sturdivant Funeral Home in Independence by Rev. James Jones.  Burial will follow in the Hackler Cemetery in Independence, Virginia.
