Mrs. June Gene Barker Greer, age 97, of the Troutdale Community passed away on Monday, July 3, 2023, at the Commonwealth Senior Living Center in Hillsville, VA.  Mrs. Greer was born on October 13, 1925, in Grayson County to Eugene and Dora Blevins Barker.  In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by all her 12 siblings and her husband, Earl Clifford Greer.

She was a devoted wife, loving mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother.  She was always interested to hear about her family.  She was always careful to make sure that everyone in her family was treated equally even if it included spending an extra .10 cents on somebody!  She loved to garden and loved her flowers and equally loved sharing her harvest with family, friends, and neighbors.  While she was a model homemaker, she enjoyed the outdoors!  She was hiking Grayson Highlands State Park at 86.  She was a life-long-devoted member of Liberty Hill Baptist Church.  Her presence was of great value in her community, and she will be greatly missed by all.

Mrs. Greer is survived by her three daughters, JoAnn and David Richardson of Galax, VA, Peggy and David Hoffman of Troutdale, VA, Nancy and Gayle Cole of Alta Vista, VA; one son, Mark Greer and Todd Dillion of Roanoke, VA; six grandchildren, Aimee Richardson Sulser, Alison Baumann, Kevin Hoffman, Craig Hoffman, and Linsay Cole; 8 great-grandchildren also survive.

Funeral services will be conducted on Saturday at 12:00 noon at the Reins-Sturdivant Funeral Home Chapel with her pastor, Rev. Tim Boyette officiating.  The family will receive friends one hour prior to the funeral at the funeral home.  Burial will follow at the Blevins Cemetery in Troutdale, VA.  In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Liberty Hill Baptist Church 7614 Troutdale Highway Troutdale, VA 24378.
