Kathy D. Martinez, age 63, of Independence, died at her home on Wednesday, July 8, 2020.  She was born on May 1, 1957 in Winston-Salem, NC to Garland and Dorothy Barbour Roark.

She is survived by two sons and a spouse, Reed and Christian Todd of Independence, Virginia and Dwayne Billings of Independence, Virginia; one daughter and spouse, Susan and Marcus Carreon of Mt. Airy, North Carolina; two sisters, Darlene and George Lira of Lenoir, North Carolina, Lisa and Antioin Gonzalez of Jefferson, North Carolina.

Funeral services will be conducted on Friday, July 10, 2020 at 2:00 at the Reins-Sturdivant Funeral Home Chapel by Rev. Darrin Brannock with burial to follow in the Pleasant Grove Cemetery in Independence, Virginia.

In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Mt. Valley Hospice 401 Technology Lane Suite 220 Mount Airy, North Carolina 27030.
