Larry James Elliott, age, 70 of the Elk Creek Community of Grayson County, Virginia passed away on May 7, 2024, at the Twin County Regional Hospital in Galax, VA.  He was born on March 12, 1954, in Baltimore, Maryland to Vonley James and Nellie Gaye Blevins Elliott.  He was a graduate of Independence High School and received his B.S. Degree in United States History from Radford College.  He was a 40-year + member of the Elk Creek Fire Department and attended Fellowship Baptist Church in Elk Creek.  He was a devoted husband and father, and grandfather.

He is survived by his wife, Becky Elliott of the home; daughter, Karen (Eric)Hash of Independence, VA ; two grandchildren, Wyatt Hash and Emilee Hash of Independence; one brother, Mark (Bonnie) Elliott of  Elk Creek, VA one sister, Sharon (Charlie) Cook of Goodview, VA; one niece, Amanda Brumfield of  Goodview; two great nieces Jordan Rae Brumfield and Haley Lynn Dawson.

Funeral services will be conducted on Friday, May 10, 2024, at 12:00 noon at the Reins-Sturdivant Funeral Home Chapel in Independence, VA with the Rev. Jeremy. Farley officiating.  The burial will follow in the Lebanon Cemetery in Elk Creek.  The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home from 11:00-12:00 noon.  The family requests that in lieu of flowers memorial contributions be made to the Elk Creek Rescue Squad PO BOX 130 Elk Creek, VA 24326, Elk Creek Fire Department PO BOX 36 Elk Creek, VA 24326 or the Fellowship Baptist Church c/o Wanda Testerman, Treas. 1141     Victory Lane Elk Creek, VA 24326.
