Larry Albert
Keesling
July 6, 1968 — July 13, 2025
Larry Albert Keesling passed peacefully in his home on July 13, 2025. Larry was born July 6, 1968, in Galax, VA to the late Joyce and Randy Keesling. He worked at Vaughan Bassett in Galax, VA.
Larry loved life and spending time with his family. He and his wife Michele, with their dog Ruckus have had many adventures from train rides, boat rides, hiking, kayaking, and even tubing in Helen, GA. Larry often said he was so mad when Michele brought Ruckus home but that dog was his near constant companion. He also enjoyed fishing, riding four-wheelers, and watching his sheep and ducks wander the fields with his children and grandchildren. Larry had a generous heart and often blessed others in secret, saying that we don't have to tell others what we do, we just need to be the hands and feet of Christ.
Larry loved God and was a firm believer in God's plan and purpose for his life. Even during his illness he said "God's plan is perfect." He often told his family, when in doubt, "Just pray about it and listen to the Word." Larry attended the Rock Worship Center in Galax, VA, and was always willing to help the ministry but also enjoyed taking Pastor Chuck Edward's keys apart any time he had an opportunity. Larry was often quiet in church but his steadfast faith never wavered.
Survivors include his beloved wife of 24 years, Michele Lee Keesling, of the home; his sons Larry Joshua Keesling of Galax, VA and Travis Myers and wife Amber of Fries, VA; and a daughter Katlynn Conklin and her husband Anthony of Fries, VA; three grandchildren, Braelynn Myers, Isabel Conklin and Bowen Myers; and his brother Gary Keesling and wife Kathy plus several nieces and nephews.
