Larry "Luke" Jeffries Shaw

Larry Jeffries Shaw of Galax, VA, passed away on Wednesday, December 3, at Forsyth Medical Center. Larry was born on February 10, 1952, in Galax to the late Connie and Nora Shaw.

A proud veteran, he was a Sergeant in the US Army and the US Army Reserves. He served his country honorably, embodying the values of bravery and dedication that defined his character.
An outdoorsman at heart, Larry found joy in nature through hunting, trapping, and fishing. His connection to the great outdoors was a fundamental part of who he was, and he cherished every opportunity to immerse himself in the beauty and adventure of the world around him.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his son, Johnny Shaw, his brother, John Shaw, and his sister, Silvia Rudd.
He is survived by his children, Tommy (Vonda) Shaw and Scarlet (Justin Grant) Shaw. Siblings Linda Richter, Sandra (Mack) Andrews, Frances Dale, Kathy (Ralph) Pini, Susan Shaw-Snow, and Gary (Mae) Shaw. Grandchildren Jonathan (Ashley) Shaw and Haley Shaw. Additionally, he is survived by his friend Jeff Testerman.

A memorial service will be held on Wednesday, December 10, at 2 pm at Beech Grove Baptist Church in Baywood, with military rites conducted by the Grayson VFW 7726, followed by a meal. The family will receive friends at the church from 1 pm until 2 pm. Those who wish to provide food for the family can bring it to the fellowship hall during visitation. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made in Larry's name to the Baywood Search and Rescue.
