Mr. Lawrence Ray Lewis, age 74, of Crumpler, NC, passed away on Friday, June 19, 2026, at Bristol Regional Medical Center in Bristol, TN, following an extended illness of nearly two years. Mr. Lewis was born on May 23, 1952, to the late Reggie Eugene and Della Rae Ham Lewis.

Lawrence was a man of deep faith, a kind heart, and unwavering generosity. He never met a stranger and was always willing to lend a helping hand to anyone in need even if it meant going out of his way to do it. He loved people, especially children, and found his greatest joy in spending time with his grandchildren. He loved to fishing as long as his health allowed, and he also enjoyed preaching at Middle Fork Church and sharing God's message with others through social media. He was known for his gentle spirit, encouraging words, and for never having a bad word to say about anyone.

He is survived by his two sons, Shang and Amanda Lewis of Piney Creek, NC, and Jerry Ray and Sharlyn Lewis of Whitetop, VA; two daughters, Elizabeth and husband Jamie Corum of Damascus, VA, and Jennifer Loggins of Mouth of Wilson, VA; one sister, Linda Miller of Crumpler, NC; ten grandchildren; one great-grandson and many dear friends who will cherish his memory.

Funeral services to celebrate the life of Mr. Lewis will be held at 1:00 PM on Wednesday, June 24, 2026, at Whitetop Baptist Church in Whitetop, VA, with Pastor Brian Walls and Rev. Elwood Taylor officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service, at the church. Burial will follow in the Byars Cemetery.
