Our beloved Lawrence Antonio Parsons, affectionately known as "Bubby," left us on July 29, 2024, in Wytheville, Virginia, at the young age of 31. He entered this world on February 19, 1993, in Statesville, North Carolina. Lawrence blossomed into a spirited and athletic soul whose vibrant passion for life and unwavering devotion to his family touched the hearts of all who knew him.   His family will remember him as a big teddy bear who was always clowning around. He was a well-loved young man.

Lawrence's journey began at Galax High School, where he dedicated himself to learning and personal development. He continued his education at Ohio Christian University to further his knowledge. Lawrence approached everything he did with dedication and a strong sense of teamwork, which was highly valued by those around him. His deep love for basketball and exceptional skill on the court inspired countless individuals in the community. His remarkable athletic gifts and passion for a range of sports showcased his extraordinary versatility and natural talent.

His memory will be cherished by his mother, Toni Melissa Parsons, Winston Salem, NC; maternal grandmother Debra Brown, Highpoint, NC; stepfather, Steven Small Sr; brother, Steven Small Jr, Highpoint, NC; special grandmother, Sandra Gear, Highpoint, NC; aunt, Sherice Miller, Highpoint, NC.

Lawrence leaves behind a loving family: paternal grandmother, Yvonne Reeves of Hillsville, VA; his father, John Reeves Jr., and stepmother, Domonique McMillian-Reeves; siblings Tierra Reeves, Tyvarres Cooper, Tayshaun Kyle, Tezakiyah Tucker, Jacianna Williams, Dazion Thompson, Zaydon Reeves, and Isaac Reeves; aunts Tyonda Ravenell (Gilberto Garcia) Javon Barroga, Michelle Reeves, Dominique Reeves (James Oxendine), and Rochelle Reeves; uncles Hans Reeves, Maurice Reeves, Buda Gathers, and Stacy Green; numerous cousins, including Tamara Ravenell, Dante Ravenell, Donte Peoples, Steven Peoples, Deangelo Ravenell, Isaiah Reeves, Elijah Reeves, Alexus Reeves, Vanessa Mann, Javonte Reeves, Aramina Barroga, Weezy Reeves, Antwon Baez, Carmen Baez, Arielle Reeves, Ashanti Baez, Josiah Richardson, Cash Scales, Aaliyah Jackson, Naliyah Contreas, Omari Jimenez, Amiyah Oxendine, and Arayah Jackson; niece, Kalani Reeves and nephew, Adriel Ramirez. He is also survived by a host of cousins, family, and friends.

He was preceded in death by his grandfather John W. Reeves Sr.; his great-grandmothers, Myrtle Reeves, and Mary Phipps; his grandfather Lawrence Parsons; and his brother Tevon Parsons.

A Funeral service to celebrate Lawrence's life will be held at Galax High School on August 11, 2024, at 3:00 pm. The family will receive friends from 2:00-3:00 prior to the funeral at the Galax High School. In lieu of flowers, donations are appreciated, honoring Lawrence's memory and vibrant spirit.
