Lillard Bryant Hart, better known as "Pete" age ,93 of Independence, Virginia passed away on December 18, 2024 at the Twin County Hospital in Galax, Virginia.  Pete was born on May 20, 1931, in the Rugby community of Grayson County, Virginia to Charlie and Cora Pendry Hart.   He was a self-employed contractor.  He was a veteran of the United States Air Force.  During his retirement years, he enjoyed fishing. He was preceded in death by his wife and his son.

He is survived by his best friend, Buck Perry of Independence, VA; his dog, "Bugs"; and several nieces and nephews also survive.

At his request, there will be no services.  Inurnment will follow in the Southwest Virginia Veteran's Cemetery in Dublin, Virginia.
