Linda Marie Johnson

Linda Marie Johnson, age 75, passed away peacefully in her home on Saturday, September 5, 2026, after a six-month battle with aggressive bladder cancer.
Born on December 30, 1950, in Sparta, Wisconsin, she was the daughter of the late George Molstad and Eunice Molstad (Verken).
 She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, George Johnson; her brother, Richard Molstad; and her firstborn son, Adam Johnson.
 She is survived by her daughter, Anne Rossi (Christopher) and son, Benjamin Johnson; her grandchildren, Anthony Tiscareno (Amanda), Megan Tiscareno and her fiance, Shannon Kelly, Natalie Tiscareno, Emilee Tiscareno, Kyndall Rossi, Kaden Rossi, Michael Johnson (Meghan), and Alexander Johnson (Halley); her great-grandchildren, Grace Tiscareno, Sophia Tiscareno, Preston Johnson, and Hudson Johnson; her brother, Thomas Molstad (Bonnie); her sister, Susan Esmay (Michael); her brother-in-law, Bill Johnson (Kathie); her sister-in-law, Marie Johnson (Richard); and many nieces, nephews, and extended family members.

 Remembering Linda

 Linda was a devoted mother, a cherished sister, a loving wife, and an incredibly proud grandma. She was often known as the “strongest woman” anyone ever knew.
The best way Linda showed her love was simply by showing up and being there for her family and loved ones. She had a lifelong passion for gardening, raising chickens, and birdwatching. Her children and grandchildren have cherished memories of picking fresh vegetables and fruit from her garden, holding baby chicks, collecting eggs from the chicken coop, and learning about each bird that visited the feeder.
 It wasn’t until she was no longer physically able to tend to her greenhouse and chickens that she had to give up these passions last winter. Even then, she found peace watching the birds at the feeder from her living room chair.
 Her greatest joy was serving her family. Her grandchildren became the happiness and purpose of her life.
 She rarely missed a moment to be with each of them—to celebrate their birthdays, graduations, accomplishments, and even their trials. Her grandchildren will forever cherish the memories of time spent at Grandma’s house, enjoying home-cooked meals, laughing together, playing games, and taking walks or bike rides. Her presence never faltered. She showed up. She loved deeply. She was there. She led with strength and love, and she leaves behind a legacy of both. We will miss her every day on Earth, but our family takes comfort in knowing Linda is no longer suffering and is walking the streets of gold with Jesus.
 The family would like to express their heartfelt gratitude to the caregivers at Access Home Health Care for their compassion, care, and friendships made with Linda. She treasured the conversations and stories shared during each home visit and looked forward to their weekly visits.
 One of Linda’s last requests was for her nurse, Susan, to come visit her at home as a friend and to meet her sister, Susan, a retired home health nurse. The family made sure her wishes came true, and Susan was able to have a beautiful visit with Linda just days before her passing.
The family also extends their sincere appreciation to the compassionate staff of Mountain Valley Hospice for the exceptional care, comfort, and dignity they provided during Linda’s final days. Their kindness, guidance, and support were an incredible blessing to our family.
 Lastly, the family would like to honor Linda’s daughter, Anne, and son, Ben, who became devoted caregivers during her final months and days. The compassion, love, and exceptional care they provided brought Linda comfort, honored her wishes to remain at home, and allowed her to be cared for by the people she loved most.
A private celebration of life will be held to honor and remember Linda. At this time, the family has not yet set a date. The family is deeply grateful for the outpouring of love, prayers, kindness, and support shown during this difficult time.
 In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to Christ Chapel of Galax, VA to support its youth organization and its efforts to bring new generations to know Jesus, His love, and His salvation. Linda’s desire to bring others into the Kingdom of God was at the heart of who she was, and she lived her life seeking to share that love and faith with others.
