Mabel Laverne Taylor, age 84, of Whitetop, Virginia died on Friday, August 25, 2022, at the Ashe Memorial Hospital in Jefferson. She was born on December 9, 1937, in Grayson County Virginia to Albert Wiles and Lura Blevins West.  In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her Step-father, Arthur West; sons, Scott B. Taylor and Tony Lee Taylor, half-brothers, Mike Wiles, Ed Wiles, Roger Wiles, and one half-sister, Laura Cox.  Mabel was a hard-working mother who held three jobs at one time providing for her family.  She loved living and enjoyed being with her family.  She will be remembered as a loving mother and grandmother.

She is survived by her two daughters, Kathy Kearley of Jefferson, NC and Tina Blevins of the home; three sons, Richard "Rick" and Norma Blevins of Damascus, VA, Donnie and Sheryl Taylor of Ohio, and Ronnie Taylor of Whitetop, VA; one step daughter, Barbara King of Lexington, NC; one sister, Shirley Wingler of Whitetop, VA; half -brothers, Bob Wiles of Crumpler, Ronnie Wiles of Mouth of Wilson, VA and Pete Wiles of Whitetop, VA; one half sister, Teresa Wiles of West Jefferson, NC; 10 grandchildren and several great-grandchildren and nieces and nephews also survive.

Memorial services will be conducted at a later date.

Reins-Sturdivant Funeral Home in Independence, VA is serving the Taylor family.
