Margaret Ann
Mettler
June 13, 1987 — January 5, 2026
Margaret Ann Mettler, age 38, of Leavittsburg, OH passed away Monday afternoon, January 5, 2026, in Johnson City, Tennessee.
Margaret was born in June 1987 and spent her youth in Southington, Ohio, on the family farm, where she explored the woods, fished in the family pond, and drove go-karts. She graduated from Chalker High School and went on to earn a degree in Computer Engineering Technology from Kent State University in 2016.
She began her career at Radio Shack and later worked at AT&T as a Retail Sales Consultant before joining Progressive Corporation as a Total Loss Claims Adjuster.
Margaret's enthusiasm for life and positive spirit were evident from the start. Her passions included cars, animals, technology, gaming, and airplanes, among many others. She was particularly devoted to her Toyota Celica, Subaru BRZ, and Sony Aibos. She was equally devoted to her six dachshunds and delighted in sharing photos and stories of them.
Margaret loved sharing every intricate detail of her interests, and those conversations were among the most enjoyable moments spent with her. Her excitement was contagious and a joy to witness. She was kind and generous, had an inquisitive spirit, and was always thrilled by learning new things. It was easy to feel comfortable around her. The family is devastated that we will not have the opportunity to make decades more memories with Margaret or see the full potential she had yet to reach.
Miss Mettler is survived by her parents, Jesse Mettler of Southington, Ohio, and Kathy Mettler of Leavittsburg, Ohio; her siblings, Jessica Mettler (Gordon Gavin II) of Upper Arlington, Ohio, Stuart Mettler (Nicole West) of Southington, Ohio, and Benjamin Mettler of Leavittsburg, Ohio. She is also remembered by many aunts, uncles, cousins, extended family members, and friends.
Plans for a celebration of her life will be announced when available.
