Marvie passed away Tuesday, October 17, 2017 at Genesis Health Care Center, Sparta, NC; He was preceded in death by his wife, Linda L. Shelor
He was born July 24, 1936 at Beckley, WV to the late John Raymond Shelor and Virginia Grooms Shelor
He served his country as an active veteran of the U.S. Army.
A member of the Sons of the American Revolution, Sparta Lions Club, Sparta Masonic Lodge and Sparta Vol. Fire Department.
Surviving, two sons, Myron and Kelli Shelor of Cherryville, NC and John Shelor of Kernersville, NC; granddaughter Maddy Shelor of Kernersville, NC
Funeral service will be conducted at 2:00 P.M. Tuesday, October, 24, 2017 at Christ Episcopal Church, Sparta, NC. Interment in the church cemetery. Rev. Stephanie Parker will officiate.
Visitation and reception will be at the church following the service.
In lieu of flowers, family sincerely request memorial contributions be made to Sparta Fire Department, P.O. Box 365, Sparta, NC 28675
