Mary Elizabeth Atwood Shaw, age 77, of Independence, Virginia died on Thursday, November 12, 2020 in King, North Carolina.  She was born on December 19, 1942 in Sparta, North Carolina to Alvin and Ome Roten Atwood.

She is survived by one son and daughter-in-law Billy David and Sherrie Shaw of Rural Hall, North Carolina; one sister, Ruby Ireson of Independence, Virginia; one brother, Dean Atwood of Sparta, North Carolina.  She was preceded in death by her husband, Billy Gerald Shaw.

Graveside service will be conducted Sunday, November 15, 2020 at 2:30 PM at the Pleasant Grove Baptist Church Cemetery by Rev. Darrin Brannock.  The family will be at the funeral home from 1:00-2:00 prior to the graveside service.
