Obituary

Nancy Dowell Anderson was a woman of simplicity, grace, and an outmatched work ethic.

Nancy was born February 8, 1962, in Pennsylvania and moved to Virginia as a child. At a young age she was confident of a few things; She wanted to be a wife. She wanted to be a mother. She wanted to be a nurse. She went right to work at accomplishing her goals from an early age. Married after a mere ten days of meeting and knowing one another, Nancy and Kenneth shared forty-one beautiful years together. Bearing four children of their own, the pair showed excellent work ethic together, working full time jobs, upkeeping a small farm, and even running a successful family mowing business together for many years.

Nancy was an excellent RN, admired by so many for her remarkable work ethic and her willingness to help.

She loved her family and always kept them as her first priority. Her children were her pride and joy, each of them holding a very special place in her heart. Seeing her grandchildren always brought a warm smile to her face.

She loved cloudless blue skies, gravy and biscuits, and her coffee. She ate bananas on her cheeseburgers and put puffed Cheetos in her chocolate ice cream. She loved the heat of a summer sun and often sunbathed. She was often notably recognized for her long dark hair and her tanned skin.

She was many things; a Wife, Mother, Granny, Sister, Daughter, Best friend, and so much more. Nancy will be remembered as a wonderful woman who will be missed by many.

Nancy is survived by three sons, Christopher Wayne Anderson and Cynthia of Galax, VA, Jared Heath Anderson and Kimberly of Galax, VA, Kevin Michael Anderson and Melissa of Mt.
