Nannie Cole Hamm Osborne, age 87, of Independence, Virginia died December 12, 2017 at the New River Valley Medical Center in Christiansburg, Virginia. Mrs. Osborne was born December 28, 1929 in Independence, Virginia to Cebert and Jennie Cole. She was the widow of Earl Hamm and Connie Osborne.
Funeral services will be conducted on Saturday, December 16, 2017 at 1:00 at the Reins-Sturdivant Funeral Home Chapel by the Rev. Tim Crockett. Burial will follow in the Independence Cemetery. The family will receive friends from noon until 1:00 on Saturday prior to the service.
Mrs. Osborne is survived by one son: James and Janet Hamm of Mt. Olive, NC; six daughters: Dorothy and Junior Heffinger, Evon and Tom Burcham, Betty and Ricky Spencer and Susan and Johnny Anderson all of Independence, Virginia, Ann and Craylin Shuler of Comers Rock, Virginia, Sherry and Rex Wooten of Waxhaw, NC; foster daughter: Patty Baumgardner; Two brothers: Joe and Anne Cole and Harold and Ruth Cole all of Independence, Virginia; and one sister: Pauline Cornett of Darlington, MD. Fifteen Grandchildren, twenty-two great grandchildren, several nieces and nephews and a special caregiver, Lori Kennedy, also survive.
In addition to her parents and spouses she was preceded in death by her daughter, Mildred Jean Hamm, two brother, Albert and Willie Cole, and her sisters, Lena Johnson and Belle Duncan.
