Naoma Ruth Edwards Katz, age 87, of Phoenixville, PA died at her home on March 26, 2022. She was born in Elk Creek, VA on December 13, 1934. Her parents were Mae Trent Bourne and Roy Bourne.

Mrs. Katz worked many years as a nursing assistant before her retirement. She enjoyed reading, flower gardening and cooking but her greatest joy was spending time with her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Funeral services will be conducted at Reins-Sturdivant Funeral Home Chapel in Independence, Virginia on Saturday, April 9, 2022, at 1:00 PM with the Rev. Gleasanna Dixon officiating. Burial will follow in Pleasant Grove Cemetery.

Mrs. Katz is survived by two daughters, Susan and Scott Kelly of Douglassville, PA and Beth and Vincent McClatchy of Phoenixville, PA; one brother, Roy and Phyllis Bourne of Clemons, NC; one sister Nancy Parks of Rocky Mount, VA; five grandchildren, Steven and Jazz Schmanek, Samantha Schmanek, Sarah Schmanek, Jennifer Kelly, and Benjamin Kelly; 6 great grandchildren, Braedon, Morgan, Jordyn, Bradley, Matthew, and River; several nieces and nephews also survive.

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her daughter, Dianne Schmanek; and her sister, Joyce Ward.
