Nellie Christine Anderson Crowder

Nellie Christine Anderson Crowder, age 70 of Galax, VA, passed away on Thursday, October 8, 2026, at New River Valley Medical Center in Christiansburg, VA.

Christine was born on November 16, 1955, in Grayson County, Virginia, to the late Lamon Glee and Lucille Anderson. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by all of her siblings.

A beloved wife, loving mother, and cherished grandmother, Christine’s family was the heart of her life. She and her husband, Edmond, shared more than 52 years of marriage. She worked hard, cared deeply, and would fight a bear for her children. She loved animals, enjoyed being at home, and treasured time spent with family and friends. Her laughter and warm smile could brighten even the hardest days.

Left to cherish her memory are her husband, Edmond “Eddie” L. Crowder of the home; three sons, Jason L. Crowder (Kim) of Radford, VA, Tim L. Crowder, (Tina) of Galax, VA, and Steven C. Crowder; (Shauna) of Wytheville, VA; bonus daughters, Evelyn (Missy) P. Crowder and Kara D. Brown; eight grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and her beloved fur baby, Tiny; extended family, Brenda Larrowe ,and dear friends also survive.

Funeral services will be for family and close friends on October 13, 2026, at Reins-Sturdivant Funeral Home at 11:00 AM with Bro. Matthew Adams officiating. Burial will follow in the Baptist Union Church Cemetery.
