Mrs. Nillie June Byrd, age, 76 of Independence, Virginia died on Thursday, September 3, 2020 at the Grayson Nursing and Rehab Center in Independence.  She was born on September 24, 1943 to Charles Paul and Lillian Clyde Holcomb Hash.  She was preceded in death by two brothers, two sisters, and two sisters-in-law.

She is survived by her husband, Rev. Clarence Wesley Byrd of the home; son, Raymond Byrd of the home; daughter and son-in-law, Marie and Junior Billings of Independence, Virginia; two grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; one brother, Buck Hash of Independence, Virginia; two sisters and a brother-in-law, Wilma Hash of Independence, Virginia, and Helen and Gary Waller of Elk Creek, Virginia; sister-in-law, Catherine Hash of Independence, Virginia; several nieces and nephews also survive.

Memorial services will be conducted on Sunday, September 20, 2020 at 2:00 PM at the Chestnut Hill Cemetery in Independence, Virginia by Rev. Tom Burcham and Jimmy McKnight.
