Norma Jean Blevins

Norma Jean Blevins, born August 25, 1933, passed away on September 26, 2026. She was the daughter of the late Willard and Hattie Price. Norma Jean was preceded in death by her parents, Willard and Hattie Price, and her brother, Willis Price.

Norma Jean was a devoted mother, a cherished sister, and an incredibly proud grandma. She worked for many years at Sprague Electric, where she was a dedicated and valued employee.

She attended both New Bethel Church and Sturgills Baptist Church for as long as she was able. Her faith was an important part of her life, and she found comfort and fellowship through her church communities. Norma Jean had a special love for animals, especially her beloved late dog, Lady. She also loved the outdoors and especially enjoyed working in her vegetable and flower gardens. She took great pleasure in growing things and spending time outside. She also loved cooking and enjoyed preparing meals for those she loved.

In addition to many friends and neighbors, Norma Jean leaves behind her daughter, Debbie Huffman (Melvin) of Galax, Virginia; her son, Kenny Blevins of Whitetop, Virginia; her brother, Bill Price (Clarsie) of Lansing, North Carolina; and her grandson, Lance Blevins of Lansing, Michigan. She is also survived by her nephews, Dave Price of Hahira, Georgia and Mike Price (Jana) of Cookeville, Tennessee; and her niece, Ginger Canovai (Chris) of Burlington, North Carolina.

Norma Jean will be remembered for the love she showed to her family, her enjoyment of God's creation, her love of animals, gardening, cooking, and the simple pleasures of life. She leaves behind many cherished memories with those who knew and loved her. Her presence will be deeply missed, but our loss is certainly Heaven's gain.

Funeral services will be held on Thursday, October 1, 2026, at 12:00 noon at Sturgills Baptist Church with Rev. Lloyd Day and Rev. Lundy Finley officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the funeral service. Burial will follow in the Cole Cemetery.
