Norma Jean Phipps, age 79, of Sparta, NC, passed away Friday, September 1, 2017 at her home.

She was born April 19, 1938 at Mouth of Wilson, Virginia to Ray Dunivant and Mary Ellen Billings Dunivant

Surviving, Her husband, James Phipps of the home; Two sons and spouses, Richard Thomas and Jo Edwards of Birmingham, ALabama and Gary and Susan Edwards of Ennice, North Carolina; One grandson, Kelly Edwards of Birmingham, ALabama and Brother and wife, Bill and Rose Dunivant of Aberdeen, Maryland

Funeral service will be held Friday, September 8, 2017 at 3:00 P.M. at the Glade Creek Baptist Church with interment in the church cemetery. Rev. Everett Shaw will officiate. The family will receive friends at the church on Friday from 2:00 P.M. preceding the funeral service.
