Novella Sutherland Rhudy of Elk Creek, Virginia, passed away Feb. 5, 2018 at Forsyth Medical Center in Winston-Salem, NC. She was born in Russell County, Virginia, November 21, 1922, daughter of Trigg M. Sutherland and Lydia Duty Sutherland. She was a member of Lebanon United Methodist Church and a graduate of Radford College. Before her marriage she worked for VA Extension Service and later for VA Public Schools. She was predeceased by her husband, Earl Carson Rhudy.
She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Ella and Steven Weber of Danville, Virginia; a son, Trigg Sutherland Rhudy of Elk Creek, Virginia; a grandson, Matthew Weber and wife, Melissa of Dumfries, Virginia; a sister, Nina R. Sutherland of Danville, Virginia; several cousins also survive.
A funeral service will be held Friday, February 9, 2018 at 2:00 PM at Lebanon United Methodist Church with the Rev. Gleasanna Dixon and the Rev. John Duvall officiating. Burial will follow in the Summerfield Cemetery.
