Otha Garl "Shorty" Wells, age 94, of Hillsville, Virginia died Saturday, October 5, 2019 at the Twin County Regional Hospital.  He was born on July 5, 1925 to James and Grace Mink Wells in Volney, Virginia.  He was the widower of Mary Elizabeth Wells.

He is survived by a daughter and son-in-law, Barbara J. and Billy Fuchs of Ocala, Florida; one son and spouse, Mickey D. and Sheryl Wells of Windermere, Florida; four grandchildren, Regina Walters, Nicholus Wells, Brandon Wells, and Dawson Wells; several nieces and nephews also survive. Also surviving is a special friend, Betty Jo Cox of Crumpler, North Carolina.

Funeral services will be conducted on Tuesday, October 8, 2019 at 2:00 PM at the Reins-Sturdivant Funeral Home Chapel by Rev. Dwight Sells.  Burial will follow in The Little Wilson Cemetery in Volney, Virginia with military rites conducted by Grayson County V.F.W. Post #7726.  The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
