Sunrise: January 10, 1952
Sunset: June 28, 2026
Mrs. Pearl Etta "Cookie" Cooper, age 74, peacefully entered into eternal rest on Sunday, June 28, 2026, at Grayson Health & Rehabilitation Center in Independence, VA.
Born on January 10, 1952, in Roanoke, VA, Pearl was the daughter of the late Albert Lewis Hoosier, Sr. and Alberta M. Hoosier. In addition to her parents she is preceded in death by her husband, Arthur Cooper; her brother, Albert Lewis Hoosier, Jr.; and her niece, Kristen Hoosier.
Affectionately known by family and friends as "Cookie," Pearl was a woman whose warm spirit and joyful presence made her a pleasure to be around. Although the origin of her nickname has been lost over the years, it remained a fitting reflection of the love and affection so many had for her. She was a treasured sister that was fun to be around. She especially loved her daughter with all her heart.
Pearl attended and earned her high school diploma from Lord Botetourt High School.
Those left to cherish memories include her daughter, Natalie Cooper; five sisters, Jean Cunningham, Beverly Hoosier, Rosemary Hoosier, Dolores Hoosier, and Sarah Hoosier, all of Roanoke, VA; two brothers, Gerard Hoosier and Wendell Hoosier; along with a host of nieces, nephews, extended family members, and friends.
No formal funeral service are planned at this time.
Reins-Sturdivant Funeral Home is serving the Cooper family.
