Phillip Micheal "Phil" Parsons
April 2, 1959 – July 15, 2026
Phillip Micheal Parsons, affectionately known by those who loved him as Phil or Micheal, age 67, of Independence, Virginia, peacefully departed this life in the comfort of his home on Wednesday, July 15, 2026. Born on April 2, 1959, in Independence, Virginia, Phillip was the beloved son of Aranna Parsons and the late Phillip Parsons.
Phillip was a devoted family man whose greatest joy was spending time with those he loved. Phillip was known for his kind heart, unwavering love for his family, and the lasting friendships he built throughout his life. His spirit, sense of humor, and willingness to lend a helping hand will forever be remembered by all who had the privilege of knowing him.
Phillip was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Renna Phipps Parsons; his father, Phillip Parsons; grandmother Margaret Valentine; his nephew, Phillip Brown; and his uncle, Frank Valentine.
He was also blessed with nine treasured great-grandchildren of whom he was proud of. Also left to honor his memory are a host of beloved nieces, nephews, extended family members, and dear friends, including two very special nephews, Chuck Bryant of Clemmons , NC; and Javarius Phipps, of the home.
Graveside funeral services will be held on Saturday, July 18, 2026, at 11:00 AM at the Monta Vista Cemetery in Galax, VA with Pastor Sue Greene officiating.
Though our hearts are saddened by his passing, we find comfort in the countless memories he leaves behind. Phillip's love, and presence will continue to live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved him. His legacy and devotion to his family and friends will never be forgotten.
