Rex Junior Hash, age 80, of Independence, VA passed away at his home on Sunday, March 16, 2025. He was born in the Fox Community on Feb. 20, 1945, to Lester Junior and Lillian Hash. In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by his sister, Pauline Cole; and brother, Ted Hash. He was a dedicated farm worker until the last day of his life. He began working at Linton Andrews Dairy, Joe Phipps Dairy, Jack Phipps Dairy and for the past 30 years was an employee of Paul Trashy. He was devoted to his dog Bubba. Rex was a friend to everybody but was a private person who kept to himself. He lived a simple and honest life. He did not demand attention and was happy to survive on essentials. He was honest in all his dealings.
He is survived by his wife, Wanda Judy Hall Hash; one sister, Linda and Walter Hash of Independence, VA; three brothers, Robert and Carol Hash of Independence, VA, Michael and Phoebe Hash of Mt. Pleasant Mills, PA, and Jimmy Hash of the home; sister-in-law Judy Hash of Troutdale, VA; special friend, Paul Trashy of Fox Creek; his grandchildren; several nieces, nephews, and great nieces and nephews also survive.
Graveside services will be conducted on Friday, March 28, 2025, at 2:00 PM at the Pine Branch Cemetery in the Fox Creek Community with Rev. Matthew Adams officiating.
