Richard Kenneth Clifton, age 72, of Mouth of Wilson, VA passed away on Wednesday, March 12, 2025, at the Catawba Valley Medical Center in Hickory, NC.  Richard was born on February 13, 1953, in St. Louis Missouri to Thomas Clifton.  Mr. Clifton was all about working- he was always hard at work and happy to be busy. For over 25 years, he was an employee of the United States Postal Service.  In his retirement years, he enjoyed caring for his vegetable garden.  He was an avid fan of Judge Judy and bluegrass music.

He is survived by his wife, Barbara Winter Clifton of the home; one son Rev. David and Anna Brooks of Lansing, NC; three daughters, Vicki and Roger Church of West Jefferson, NC, Susan Reedy of Mouth of Wilson, VA, and Jeannie and Howard Dean Sharpe of Mouth of Wilson, VA; four grandchildren, Kimberly, Dylan, Brandon, and Taylor; 12 great grandchildren, Josh, Timmy, Craig, Jennifer, Tyler, Kayla, DJ, and Kristen; and a special sister-in-law, Kathy Adams of Maryland also survives.

Funeral services will be conducted on Monday, March 17, 2025, at 4:00 PM at the Reins-Sturdivant Chapel with Rev. David Brooks officiating.  Private burial will follow in the Haw Orchard Cemetery in Mouth of Wilson, Virginia at a later date.
