Richard Lee Hughes, Jr.  age, 57, of Independence, Virginia died on Tuesday, August 25, 2020 at Forsyth Medical Center in Winston-Salem, North Carolina.

He is survived by his son, Kaden Hughes of Independence, Virginia; parents, Richard Lee, Sr. and Evelyn Cassell Hughes; sister and brother-in-law, Pam and Kelly Horne of Dublin, Georgia; two nieces also survive.

Graveside services will be conducted on Friday, August 28, 2020, at 11:00 AM at the Independence Cemetery in Independence, Virginia by Rev. Danny Nettleton and Rev. Walter Pierce.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude's Children's Hospital 501 St. Jude's Place Memphis, TN 38105.
