Mr. Robert James Anders, age 74, of Fries, Virginia died on Sunday, November 20, 2022, at the Waddell Nursing Home in Galax, Virginia.  He was born on April 9, 1948, in Grayson County, Virginia to William George and Helen Akers Anders.  Mr. Anders was a self-employed cabinet builder.  He will be remembered for his beautiful and precise work in furniture construction.  He enjoyed and was gifted at his tomato gardening.  As an avid outdoorsman, he loved trout fishing and hunting.  He especially enjoyed passing time in his swing talking to his friends and neighbors.  In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Judy Gravely Anders.

Mr. Anders is survived by two sisters, Charlotte Cowgill of Fredericksburg, VA and Louise Davis of Mt. Airy, NC; special friends, Eddie and Connie Farmer of Fries, Virginia; several nieces and nephews also survive.

Graveside services will be conducted on Saturday morning at 11:00 at the Fries Cemetery with the Rev. Bob Cheeks officiating.
