Obituary

It is with the heaviest of hearts we announce the passing of Robert "Bobby" Charlie Cox III who left this world to walk with his beloved Lord and Savior on February 13, 2026. Bobby was born on November 25, 1952, to his beloved parents, Robert Charlie Cox Sr. and Dove Bolt Cox, who preceded him in death.

Bobby was a lifelong fisherman and had many great memories on the water. Alongside his loving wife, Jane, he also enjoyed being a part of a billiards team. He also dedicated 31 years of his life as a package car driver for UPS.

Bobby was a dedicated family man who leaves behind a legacy of love and devotion. He will be deeply missed by his wife, Jane Thaggard Cox. The depth of his love and his steadfast support will never be forgotten.

He leaves behind his daughter, Elizabeth Cox Utz, son-in-law, Michael Utz, and grandchildren, Johnathan Utz and Snow Dove Utz. His sister, Diane Cox Pratt, brother in law, Jack Pratt, and nieces, Amy Parker, and Alison Belk. His friends are far too numerous to list but are certainly not forgotten.

Bobby's absence will be felt by all who had the privilege to know him, but his legacy will live on through the family he left behind. He sense of humor is a memory that will be forever held dearly by all those who knew him.

Receiving of friends will be at 9:00am Tuesday, February 17, 2026 with a Memorial service to follow at 10:00 at First Baptist Church of Matthews.
