Roger Dale White, age 80, of Bassett, Virginia passed away on Wednesday, Feb. 12, 2025, at the Forsyth Medical Center in Winston-Salem, NC.  He was born in Galax, Virginia on June 6, 1944, to James William and Matilda Wooten White.

Roger will be remembered as a friend to everybody never meeting a stranger.  He was always quick to share a joke and even quicker to "speak his mind."  He found great joy sitting on the porch and working on his fishing rods.  He enjoyed hunting and fishing.  He was a football fan and a dedicated racing fan with all his support directed to Jimmy Johnson.  He was a talented and skillful poker player.  Roger served honorably in the United States Army.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his son.  He is survived by his sister, Betty Huyser of Michigan; niece, Linda Kemp of Galax, VA; and special friends, Mary Deal of Collinsville, VA and Tommy Bowden of Bassett, VA.

Funeral services will be conducted on Tuesday at 1:00 PM at the Reins-Sturdivant Funeral Chapel with burial to follow in the Forest Cemetery.
