Roland Shane Griffith, age, 47 of Elk Creek, Virginia was released from all earthly binds on August 26, 2023, at the Roanoke Memorial Hospital in Roanoke, VA.  He was born in Galax, VA on March 14, 1976.

Shane was a devoted Virginia Tech fan.  He enjoyed being with his friends.  He relished being outdoors and never got enough of mowing.  He could mow endless hours and was always ready for more.  He loved all animals.  He will be remembered for the love he had for his church family at Mt. Zion Church.  The family is greatly comforted in knowing that Shane has finally found peace and contentment and has laid aside the difficulties and worries of this world.

He is survived by his mother, BJ Sullivan of Elk Creek, Virginia; brother Barren and Crystal Griffith of Mt. Airy, NC; Maternal grandmother, Betty Jo Sullivan of Elk Creek, VA; special aunts, Cindy Sullivan of Elk Creek, VA, Pattie and Miller Lewis of Hillsville, VA; special friend, Linda Richardson of Elk Creek, VA; nephew, McCain A. Griffith; several uncles, aunts, cousins, and a host of friends also survive.  He was preceded in death by his maternal grandfather, Roland L. Sullivan, Sr. and a first cousin, Bryan Moxley.

At Shane's request, there will be no funeral service.  He will be laid to rest in the family plot at Comers Rock Cemetery.
