GALAX – Sara K Brewer Papousek 90, a resident of Galax Health and Rehab, passed Wednesday evening, June 15th of natural causes.

Born February 11, 1932 in Grayson County, she was the daughter of Verdie Sprinkle and William Leftridge "Leff" Brewer.  Sara was the youngest of 8 children.

Surviving are a son and daughter:  Donald Papousek of Lead, SD and Bettina Nelson, Galax VA; three grandchildren:  Dillon and Piper Papousek and Adam Nelson. In addition she has 3 nephews:  Hershel and Larry Brewer of Galax, and Dennis Brewer of Woodlawn.

Sara was married to the late Lewis S Papousek of Newell SD, where they operated a dairy farm.

Funeral services will be private, and burial will follow in the Fox Creek Cemetery at a later date.

Reins Sturdivant Funeral Home of Independence, VA is serving the Papousek family.
