Scottie Lee Absher, age 76, of Mouth of Wilson, VA, the Cabin Creek Community, passed away on Monday, November 13, 2023, at the Ashe Memorial Hospital in Jefferson, NC.  He was born on December 15, 1946, to Samuel Quincy and Claraissa Ann Walls Absher.  In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his two brothers, Harry Absher and Mack Absher, one sister, Rose Ann Greer, and his stepmother, Mable Evelyn Blevins Absher.

He is survived by five sisters, Phyllis Stamper of Rural Retreat, VA, Macy and Marcy Culberton of Chilhowee, VA, Judy Sizemore of Chilhowee, VA; Penny and Mike Sizemore of Mouth of Wilson, VA, and Pam Absher of Marion, VA; three brothers, Larry and Becky Absher of Whitetop, VA, Timothy Absher of PA, and Kenny and Mary Absher of Marion, VA; one special nephew, Morgan Howell of the home; several nieces and nephews also survive.

Funeral services will be conducted on Thursday, November 16, 2023, at 3:00 PM at the Faith Lutheran Church with Rev. Julian Owen officiating.  The family will receive friends from 2:00-3:00 PM prior to the service at the church.  Burial will follow in the Walls Cemetery.
