Sheila Louise Carico, age 67, of Fries, Virginia passed away at her home on October 21, 2023.  She was born on February 1, 1957, in Kent County Delaware to Allen Hale and Florence Louise Bittler Bedwell.  In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her grandmother, Rose Bedwell, and her husband, Jake Carico.

Sheila will be remembered as a patient and caring nurse who served at Twin County Regional Hospital, Waddell Nursing Home, and Dr. Thorn's Office in Independence, VA.  She was a dedicated and loving mother who used her loving and firm hand to maintain discipline until the final hours of her life.  She was lovingly dedicated to her granddaughter, Autumn.  She was talented wood worker who was skilled with scroll saw work and an artist with a crochet hook.  She loved all animals and often took wild animals into her home.  In her pastime, she could be found enjoying her front porch and watching the hummingbirds.

She is survived by her two sons, Anthony Carico and Queena Goad of Fries, VA and Jessie Carico of Independence, VA; twin brother, Doug Bedwell of Arkansas; sister, Sharon Miller of Pennsylvania; granddaughter, Autumn Carico of Fries, VA; niece, April and nephew, Michael; special friend Virginia "Ginny" Jones of Independence, VA.

Graveside services will be conducted on Tuesday, October 24, 2023, at 2:00 PM  at the Carico Cemetery in Fries, VA, with Rev. Greg Carico and Glen Hyatt officiating.  The family will be meeting at 1263 Providence Road Fries, VA, where friends may call at any time.
