Shelba Jean Ward Howell, age 75 of Sparta, the Twin Oaks Community went home to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ December 24, 2017 at the Ashe Memorial Hospital in Jefferson, North Carolina.
She was a loving mother who enjoyed spending time with her family.
Mrs. Howell was born October 23, 1942 in Jefferson, North Carolina to Don Worth and Susie Bobbitt Ward. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by three brothers: Clarence Bobbitt, Ben Ward, Don Ward; four sisters: Shirley Ward, Ollie Bobbitt Pauline VanHoy and Zollie Ward.
She is survived by her husband, Carroll Lee Howell of the home, two sons: Ward Howell of Wilkesboro, Gene and wife, Becky Howell of Sparta; one daughter Susan and husband, Mickey Miles of Traphill, NC; one stepson: Richard Howell of Sparta; one sister Sue and husband, James Dowell of Sparta, North Carolina; two grandchildren: Alexis and Jacob Howell of Sparta, North Carolina; several step grandchildren and great-grandchildren and nieces and nephews also survive.
Funeral services will be conducted on Thursday morning at 11:00 Am at the Reins-Sturdivant Funeral Home Chapel by the Rev. Eddie Roland and Rev. Nathan Caparolie. Burial will follow in the Pleasant Grove Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Wednesday evening from 6:00-8:00 at the funeral home.
