Obituary

Sherri Lynn Hale, age 67, of Elk Creek, left this world for her heavenly home on September 15, 2025. Sherri was born on September 27, 1957 in Charleston, WV to Sherman Edward Huffman and Pauline Fox Huffman. Sherri spent the majority of her young adult life spending time in different cities and states around the United States such as LA, Hawaii, New Orleans, Pittsburg and Florida to name a few. After experiencing those different cultures and free bird lifestyle a series of life dominos and a couple of homemade pies led her to her husband, Michael (Red) Hale and the Elk Creek Valley. After settling down and finally having a child of her own, she became a mother of not only Tayler, but to countless other families and members of the community. Sherri was known for her home cooked meals, infectious smile, laughter, and kindness. Sherri had an unapologetic way of telling you what was on her mind, but we all knew that was out of the love she had for us all.

Sherri was preceded in death by 2 Angel Babies, her mother, Pauline Fox Huffman, brother, James Kipling Huffman and father-in-law, Bronson Hale.

Those that are left to cherish Sherri's memory include her husband Michael (Red) Hale. Daughter Tayler Wright (Jordan). Two grandsons, Trenton and Emerson Wright. Father, Sherman Edward Huffman (Jeanie). Brother, Sherman Edward Huffman, Jr. Sister, Leah Yvonne Huffman (Mark). Sister-In-Law, Sandy Huffman. Step-Sister, Tiffany Jerrett. Mother-in-Law, Nancy Hale. Brother-in-Law, Jimmie Hale (Annette). As well as countless nieces and nephews and all of her extra children in the Elk Creek Valley.

There will be a celebration of life at Eagleview Event Center on Wednesday, September 24, 2025 from 2-4 with the eulogy being delivered at 3. A private family burial will be done at a later date.
