Sherri Denise Harris Corvin, age 61, of Elk Creek, Virginia passed away at her home on Wednesday, July 9, 2025, surrounded by her loving family.  She was born in Galax, Virginia on January 30, 1964, to William Irvin and Edith Christine Jones Harris.  Sherri graduated from Independence High School in 1982 and later earned a B.S. Degree.  She was employed by the Grayson County Public School System as a Deputy Clerk of Finance in the School Board Office.  Sherri had a strong faith in God which was nurtured throughout her life.  She enjoyed being in nature and always expressed her admiration and love for the beauty of these mountain that she called home.  As a talented craftsperson, she delighted in creating crafts to share with her family and friends.  Christmas was among her favorite holidays and her family as well as her extended family all gathered annually at her home to celebrate the season.  She enjoyed being in her kitchen where she loved cooking and especially baking cookies for her family.  Sherri was all about devotion to her family.  She loved providing for her husband and her daughter. While Sherri was always in awe of the majesty of God's Creation, she was especially fond of animals.  She extended a special devotion to cats with "Bucky" and "Zoey" being among her favorites who survived her.  While Sherri lived a full and eventful life, those who knew her best would recognize her love for her favorite pastime, riding motorcycles.  While riding she was not only able to enjoy the beauty of the mountains but spend time with her husband who always accompanied her. She was a talented and skilled motorcycle enthusiast.  While her family and friends are deeply saddened at her passing, they rejoice that she has laid aside the sickness that dominated her life over the past few years and has entered into the joy of heaven where she can once again gaze over more of God's creation.

She is survived by her husband, Randy Corvin of the home; her daughter, Crystal Leigh Corvin of the home; two brothers, Nathan and Sherry Harris of Critz, VA and Grover and Frances Harris of Speedwell, VA; one sister, Alice and Jacky Devine of Independence, VA; sister-in-law, Tracie and David Peeples of Rural Retreat, VA; several nieces and nephews also survive.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, William Lee "Bill" Harris.

Memorial services to celebrate Sherri's life will be conducted on Monday, July 14, 2025, at 2:00 PM at the Reins-Sturdivant Funeral Home Chapel.  The family will receive friends one hour prior to the funeral from 1:00-2:00 at the funeral home.

The family respectfully request no food or visitation at the home.  In lieu of flowers, the family request that memorial contributions be made to:  American Lung Association at action.lung.org.
