Shirley June Billings Mitchell, age 91, of Troutdale, VA, passed away on Saturday Feb. 13, 2021 at home.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, Feb. 20, 2021 at 1:00pm at Troutdale Baptist Church with visitation one hour prior.  Reverends David Surber, Ken Riggins, and Michael Hopkins will be officiating.  Burial will follow at Troutdale Cemetery.

Shirley was born in Squire, West Virginia to Earl and Elma Billings on July 31, 1929. She graduated from Big Creek High School in War, WV.  She married Carl (Jack) Mitchell on June 25, 1947 in Grant, VA.  She was a member of Friendship Baptist Church in Troutdale.

Shirley is preceded in death by her husband Jack Mitchell and brothers Ellis & Jack Billings.

She is survived by her children: Sherri & Mike Pennington of Martinez, GA; Missy & Bob Plummer of Troutdale, VA and Steve & Susie Mitchell of Sugar Grove, VA.  She is also survived by six grandsons, one granddaughter, four great grandsons and three great granddaughters. Survivors also include her siblings: Bob & Joanne Billings of Obetz, OH; Ronnie & Marie Billings of Dublin, VA; Freeda Baldwin of Newhall, WV; Shelby Sage of Wytheville, VA; Juanita Mitchell of Troutdale, VA; Nadine & Bud Barnett of Rocky Mount, VA; and Janice Johnson of Hampton, VA.
