Susie Mae Anderson of Fries, VA transitioned to be with her Lord and Savior on March 5th, 2026, making her stay on Earth 102 years. Susie was born on November 25,1923, in Thorpe, West Virginia to the late Hurd and Lula Taylor Johnson. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Warren Anderson, and son Hurd Anderson.

She was a lifetime member of Taylor's Chapel Church and held many positions through the years including Administrator, Sunday School President, Secretary, Treasurer, Trustee Board, and Missionary Department.

She was hospitable and always ready to feed people who visited her home. She was a person with many talents. She was a substitute teacher and a hair stylist, fixing everyone's hair in the neighborhood in her younger days. She and her husband also served as foster parents to 20 children.

She leaves to cherish her memory: one son, Roger (Judy) Anderson of Roanoke, VA, three daughters, Cathy (Miles) Siler of Rocky Point, NC, Linda (Ralph) King of Bedford, VA, Jeanie Fugate, caregiver, of Fries, VA, one sister, Edith Hash of Roanoke, VA, granddaughter, Barbara Brown (caregiver), grandson, Stacy McKinney (caregiver), 11 grandchildren, 29 great-grandchildren, 25 great great-grandchildren, special friends, Ellis Lawson, Helen Howard, Edith Sexton, and JoAnn Horton.

Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, March 11, 2026, at Reins~Sturdivant Funeral Home at 1:00 PM with Rev. Miles Siler officiating. Burial will follow in the Taylor Johnson Cemetery in Fries, VA. Repast will follow burial at the Taylors Chapel Church in Fries, VA.
