Sylvia Lavon Taylor was born at Independence, VA, to the late Glen Taylor and Bertha Ray Taylor. She was born to Glen Taylor and Bertha Ray. She was a retired R. N. Nurse having worked in hospitals.

Surviving, sister, Mary Taylor of Independence, VA, three brothers, Ray Taylor and David and Barbara Taylor of Independence, and Eugene and Irene Taylor of Yadkinville, NC; , six nephews, two nieces, two great-nephews, four great nieces, two great-great nephews and two great-great nieces. She was preceded in death by her father and mother, Glen and Bertha Taylor, and by sisters, Janet Sells and Linda Taylor

Funeral service will be held at 1:00 P.M. on Wednesday, November 21, 2018 in Reins-Sturdivant Funeral Chapel, Independence, VA. Rev. Joe Mack Taylor will officiate. Interment in Saddle Creek Cemetery, Independence, VA. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service in the funeral home.
