Teresa Layne Johnson, age 63, of Elk Creek, Virginia died on August 28, 2019 at Forsyth Hospital in Winston-Salem, NC.  She was born on January 21, 1956 in Galax, Virginia to Elmo and Kanetta Phipps Johnson.

She is survived by  her sister, Nancy Johnson and husband, Henry McMillian of Wytheville, Virginia; brother, Elmo Phipps Johnson Fairport, Ohio; aunt, Betty Goolsby of  New Jersey; uncle, James Phipps of Turlock, California; niece, Mara Johnson, New Mexico; nephew, Jade Jarvis of Rural Retreat, Virginia; host of cousins and friends; special friend and caregiver, Faith Bailey of Independence, Virginia.

Memorial services will be conducted on Friday Sept. 6, 2019 at 2:00 PM at the Crossroads United Methodist Church in Elk Creek, Virginia by Elder Dayle McKinney.

Family will receive friends one hour prior to the services at the church.
